From the owners themselves

"I brought in my grandfather's Seiko from the 1970s — it hadn't run properly in about eight years. The heirloom rebuild took eleven weeks, which felt long at first, but the folder they handed back with the watch explained every stage. The timing sheet showed it running within about five seconds a day. More than I expected from a movement that age."

"Had my diver resealed here before a trip to Koh Tao. They gave me a printed pressure test result showing the case held to 200m. It's a small thing but it meant I could dive with it without worrying. They also pointed out a small scratch on the crystal I hadn't noticed and asked if I wanted it addressed — I said no, they left it alone. That kind of question before doing anything is what I look for."

"The cleaning service was done well — the watch runs noticeably more smoothly and the timing printout showed a clear improvement from what I described beforehand. The only thing I'd mention is the wait at intake, which was about twenty minutes longer than I'd expected for a walk-in. Minor issue. The work itself was fine and the write-up they gave me at collection explained things clearly."

"I run a small business in Ayutthaya and my husband and I both have watches that get regular use. The cleaning service here is the one I'd recommend to anyone who asks. It's not cheap for a tune-up but you get a document at the end, which means the next time something feels off I have a baseline to compare against. That's more useful than just handing the watch back and saying it's fine."

"Brought a vintage Omega in for a heirloom rebuild. My father wore it from the 1960s until he passed in 2019; it sat in a drawer for five years after that. Movemento treated it with the kind of care that you hope for but rarely find. The documentation folder they prepared is extraordinary — photographs at every stage of disassembly, notes on each component, a record of what was renewed. My daughter will inherit a watch with a story attached."

"My sport watch is used regularly for swimming and I'd been putting off the reseal for too long. They were straightforward about the condition of the original gaskets — one was already showing signs of compression set — and completed the work in about ten days. The pressure test report gives me something concrete to point to. I'll go back in two years for the next reseal."

Case studies

Three jobs in detail

Case 01 — Cleaning Tune-Up

Dress watch losing two minutes daily

Challenge

Owner noticed the watch had been running progressively slower over twelve months. It arrived roughly two minutes slow per day with a dull external finish from regular wear.

Service

Cleaning and lubrication tune-up. Accessible movement points lubricated; external case cleaned. Timing machine run at intake and again after service to establish the improvement.

Result

Post-service rate: +4 seconds per day across positions. A notable improvement from the two-minute-per-day loss at intake. Turnaround: two days. Written timing data provided at collection.

"The before and after numbers on the printout made it very clear something had actually changed."
Case 02 — Water-Resistance Reseal

Diver watch ahead of active dive trip

Challenge

Owner planned a dive trip to the Gulf of Thailand. The watch had not been resealed in four years. Original gaskets showed visible compression on inspection and one pusher seal had begun to crack.

Service

Full gasket replacement at crown, case-back, and pushers. Staged pressure test to 200m. All results documented. Case cleaned on completion. Turnaround: nine days.

Result

Pressure test passed at 200m rating. Documented result sheet issued. Owner used the watch on three dives during the trip. Scheduled for the next reseal in 2027.

"Having a piece of paper showing the test passed made the dive trip feel different."
Case 03 — Heirloom Rebuild

1968 pocket-watch conversion, stored 20 years

Challenge

A 1968 pocket-watch movement fitted into a custom wristwatch case. Stored unserviced for approximately twenty years. Dried lubricants, a worn mainspring, and a cracked jewel setting on disassembly.

Service

Full heirloom rebuild. Ultrasonic clean, new mainspring, jewel setting replaced. Step-by-step photography at every stage. Archival notes covering each finding. Presentation folder assembled. Turnaround: ten weeks.

Result

Movement running at +8 seconds per day — well within acceptable tolerance for a movement of this age. Complete photographic and written dossier passed to the client's family with the watch.

"We didn't know half of this history until we read the notes."
